      Igniting the innovation engine and developing new quality productive forces according to local realities

Scientific and technological innovation is the cornerstone of building a modern industrial system and the key driving force for accelerating the formation of new quality productive forces. “Developing new productive forces according to local realities is a matter that General Secretary XI Jinping cares about greatly and is also a key issue that scientific and technological departments need to address”, said SUN Haisheng, Director-General of the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province.       Implementing carbon emission reduction and efficiency improvement and pursuing the path to green development

He mentioned that his team will continue to focus on innovation-driven approaches and accelerate the transformation of achievements to fully support the efficient oilfield exploration with the aim of reaching new heights in benefits. “By 2035, our team will have developed a series of chemical flooding technologies to significantly increase oil recovery rates in high-temperature and high-salinity reservoirs, maintaining a leading position in the industry.”

Hydrogen energy is the new driving force for China’s green and low-carbon transformation and the key technology for the industry’s green and low-carbon transformation. At the same time, they will actively advocate a green lifestyle, and implement the five-year action plan of “Taking Actions of Electrification to Create a Low-carbon Jining”. Jining will focus on the further construction of public charging piles, promotion and selling of new energy vehicles, and popularization of new energy vehicles in rural areas, accelerate the replacement of new energy vehicles in areas such as buses, sanitation vehicles and taxis, and enhance residents’ quality of life through a variety of green products and consumption patterns.

      Pursuing the dream of the deep blue sea and excelling in marine development.

The Shandong Peninsula, encircled by the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea, with abundant marine resources, has great potentials for the marine industry. General Secretary XI Jinping emphasized during his inspection the need to leverage the unique advantage of abundant marine resources, forge ahead with the ocean, strengthen oceanic development, build a world-class cluster of ports, and create a solid foothold for the development of the modern marine economy.

“As General Secretary positively acknowledged the experience of Rizhao Port in transforming and upgrading traditional industries to develop new quality productive forces, I feel proud and inspired as a young scientific and technological worker,” said XU Guannan, Deputy Director of the Rizhao Port Technology Innovation Center. He mentioned that he and his team will expedite the construction of a modern technology innovation center to empower the smart port development.

In the Economic and Technological Development Zone of Weihai, the Wufu Shipyard Green Marine Engineering Technology Industrial Base project, with a total investment of about RMB 2 billion, will soon be officially put into production. The Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone has made full use of its port and coastline resources and shipbuilding industry foundation, planned and constructed a high-standard 7.4 square kilometer marine engineering equipment industrial park, attracting enterprises such as Wuhu Shipyard, Shandong Electrical Engineering & Equipment Group, and Yunzhou Tech to settle in. 43 quality industrial projects have progressed rapidly.

“General Secretary has called for the creation of a hub for the development of the modern marine economy, which further indicates the future direction for the marine engineering equipment industry in the Development Zone,” said WANG Dengpan, Director of the Economic Development Bureau of Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone. Next, efforts will be made to promote the rise of the marine engineering equipment industrial park and increase the strength of building, extending, supplementing, and strengthening industrial chains.
