Round Table Salon on "Cultural Creativity and Cultural Industry"
On March 20, 2021, at the invitation of QTV, the Round Table Salon on "Cultural Creativity and Cultural Industry" was held in Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research. This Salon focused on hot topics such as "Art and Life", "Art and Science", "Art and Public Culture", "Cultural Tourism, Cultural Creation and Education", "Culture and Industry Development" and "Culture and Block Commerce" to discuss the significance of art and science to social development and industrial upgrading in today's growing cultural industry.
YU Liming, President of FIDA International CO., GUAN Haitao, Chairman of Qingdao Jiusan Culture and Art Exchange Center Co., Ltd., CHEN Yu, Founder and CEO of Beijing YUANXINGYUEYA Education Consulting Co., Ltd., and JIANG Guangyu, Teacher of Qingdao University Fine Art College, attended the Round Table Salon, and WANG Jiansong, Deputy Director of Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research presided over the event.

Deputy Director WANG Jiansong first introduced the topic of "Art and Life" by analyzing the abundant and various expression forms of art in life. He pointed out that there were both aesthetics and ugliness in contemporary society and the cultivation of correct aesthetics needed continuous benign guidance in life. President Yu Liming also realized from years of experience that art and life were deeply integrated and the pursuit of art should not only stay at the visual level. Teacher JIANG Guangyu believed that as more and more interior designs no longer relied solely on the placement of furniture, but on the participation of works of art, art was gradually changing into a way of life.

When it came to the topic of "art and science", Deputy Director WANG Jiansong believed that art and science were inseparable, as the creation of art is based on its internal logic of science while the emergence and development of science consequentially imply the sensitivity and creativity of art. Chairman GUAN Haitao analyzed the current integration of art and science and its performance in mainstream art activities. He believed that the promotion media needed to be flexibly adjusted according to the changes in content and the acceptance of the public, the combination of art and science had a good effect on promoting exhibition activities, and the participation in exhibitions can also inspire the public to further think about the development of art and science.

With regard to "Art and Public Culture", Deputy Director WANG Jiansong believed that cities were the aggregation of individual lifestyles, and it was necessary to understand the complexity and diversity of social structures as well as encourage and guide the public to understand the cultural context of cities themselves. President YU Liming, in accordance with his working experience in Walt Disney Imagineering, pointed out that the development of the art industry should be more diversified, and the public culture should be deeply excavated according to the needs of the public. With the constant improvement of the public's awareness of beauty, the shaping of personalized feelings was particularly important. The public art form of society needed to be changed from universality to individuality and from the same image of the cities to each city with its own style.
Centering on "Cultural Tourism, Cultural Creation and Education", Ms. CHEN Yu said that, the beauty standards needed to be formulated for today's society. For example, college students should learn the science and rules of wearing in the workplace and life, and the beauty standards were the necessary condition for creating social comfort. Deputy Director WANG Jiansong also pointed out that aesthetic feeling needed to be appropriate, art and life also needed appropriate definition criteria, and attention should be paid to guiding people's understanding of aesthetics in education.

The participants expressed their views on "Culture and Industry Development" based on their own experiences. Ms. CHEN Yu said that, in the Ancient City of Pingyao, not only were there cultural and creative products and cultural environment, but also a unique living condition of residents was created in the ancient city scene. President YU Liming said that this was to use the space transposition to create a tourism culture, similar to Zhouzhuang Town, and to maintain the original culture. As long as the content was natural enough, it can be loved and resonate with tourists. After the overall cultural tourism became an industrial chain, primary consumption, secondary consumption and tertiary consumption can be achieved by "attracting people-retaining people-retaining people again". With the example of Disneyland, the first consumption referred to the park tickets, the second consumption mostly referred to catering in the park, and the third consumption was the sale of derivatives. After the three levels of consumption, there was irrational consumption that was more difficult to achieve, for which the change needed to be realized from the park management and operation mode to derivatives.
In the last topic of "Culture and Block Commerce", Deputy Director WANG Jiansong took the renovation and upgrading of key blocks he participated in and presided over, such as Wangfujing and Guijie in Beijing, and the brand strategy model of blocks as examples, and pointed out that, in the cultural construction of the block, we should first pay attention to creating a cultural atmosphere to establish brand positioning, attract the public to maintain attention to the block culture, then further establish the block brand culture with the goal of creating a harmonious and mutually beneficial commercial culture for merchants, and finally realize the high-quality improvement of the block environment. Chairman GUAN Haitao also believed that the design of public space needed to establish good emotional sustenance for the masses, which can also effectively promote the development of culture and commerce in the region.

Finally, the Round Table Salon came to an end in the heated discussion among the participants.
