Tsinghua University Conducts a Special Safety Inspection of the TASA Laboratory
On the afternoon of December 19, a three-member inspection team led by JIANG Chao, Director of the Office of Domestic Cooperation, Tsinghua University, and consisting of WANG Mou, Special Equipment Safety Specialist of the Laboratory Office, Tsinghua University, and GUO Ting, Materials Safety Specialist, visited the Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research ("TASA") to inspect and guide the safety management of the Advanced Manufacturing and Design Prototype Laboratory. LIU Weidong, Secretary of the Party Branch and Assistant to the Dean of TASA, accompanied them throughout the inspection.
The inspection team gained a comprehensive understanding of TASA's Advanced Manufacturing and Design Prototype Laboratory through a combination of listening to the report, static checks, on-site observations, and discussions and exchanges. Firstly, the inspection team listened to a report by WANG Fengchao, Senior Director of the laboratory, who gave a detailed report on the basic information about the TASA Laboratory's construction, as well as the safety system, system specifications, equipment management, and daily maintenance. The inspection team them visited Workshop 5 for an on-site inspection of the laboratory. Careful inquiries and on-site inspections were conducted mainly on the establishment of relevant systems, laboratory admission conditions, laboratory safety management, and equipment use management.
At the symposium, the inspection team members exchanged their opinions with the relevant personnel of TASA on the comprehensive inspection. They gave a high marks to TASA’s laboratory safety management. Director JIANG Chao said that the TASA Laboratory, whose overall construction is still in its infancy, is constructed with high standards, a well-regulated system, a very strictly implemented safety system and risk control. He also said that TASA should always pay attention to the use of various equipment and continuously update safety management measures. Besides, he expressed his hope that the TASA laboratory could give full play to the advantages of large scale and a full range of equipment to improve project implementation and industrial service capability.
Secretary LIU Weidong said that TASA has always regarded safety as the top priority in all its work; leaders at all levels of TASA have always insisted on taking safety work as the bottom line; and Tsinghua University's special safety inspection of the TASA laboratory not only reflected its emphasis on laboratory safety work, but also provided guidance for the overall construction of the laboratory. We will take this inspection as an opportunity to further improve the laboratory's safety system, insist on assigning responsibilities level by level, conduct regular inspections of hidden dangers, and make persistent efforts to implement various safety systems. At the same time, we will promote the work in the whole field by drawing upon the experience gained from this inspection to align with the standards of domestic university laboratories on the basis of safe development.
