Introduction
The International Joint Innovation Design Center for Rail Transit is a design center jointly established by Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research, CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd. and PriestmanGoode. CRRC SRI is the core enterprise of CRRC, the industrialization base of China’s high-speed trains, the manufacturer of urban rail transit vehicles and the important export base of national rail transit equipment products. PriestmanGoode is a cross-industry internationally renowned design consultancy headquartered in London, with a unique global perspective to tailor design and brand promotion experiences for many world-leading aviation enterprises and rail transit companies.
The Center is an important exploration for the research institute to implement the national strategic deployment and improve the linkage mechanism of industry-university-research resources. It aims to define the new trend of future travel development, create new scenarios of future travel, and promote China’s innovative design of rail transit to lead the world through theoretical research, technological innovation, and industrial design of the rail transit system. Based on the needs of industrial development, the Center integrates innovative resources, explores and applies cutting-edge technologies, gives full play to the driving role of integration and innovation of the industrial design in the R&D and manufacturing of rail transit product and service systems, and integrates the innovation of art and science throughout the whole process of conceptual design and industrial implementation of future transportation systems.
