LI He, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of AADTHU, and his delegation visits and investigates TASA

On August 3, 2020, LI He, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University (AADTHU), along with WANG Xiaoxin, Secretary of Party Branch of Department of Arts and Crafts of AADTHU went to Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research (TASA), visited and investigated the park, and discussed the construction of the workshops and the layout plans of the sculptures in the park. ZHAO Chao, Deputy Dean of AADTHU and Deputy Director of TASA accompanied this visit. 

Mr. LI He and his delegation first went to the construction site of the park and investigated seven workshops in detail. After listening to the staff's introduction about the construction plan of the workshops, the team proposed feasible suggestions on the construction and operation of workshops by taking the majors of sculpture and arts and crafts as an example. In the team's view, as a new model of innovation and development outside Tsinghua University, TASA should lay emphasis on the combination of innovative technology and industry. Based on building a platform for the internal teachers to participate in co-construction, TASA should also solicit prime enterprise resources in the industry to get involved in the workshop construction. Meanwhile, TASA should strengthen the core competitiveness of the market by unleashing complementary advantages in the industry-university-research collaboration, and accelerate the improvement of the self-sustaining capability of TASA. 

Upon completing the workshop visit, the team led by Li He inspected the placement points for the sculptures one by one and put forward new ideas based on the development concept of TASA. Mr. LI He said that both the workshop construction and design of the placement points of the sculptures can be combined with the study of urban art and aesthetic education of Qingdao. The development of TASA is closely related to the local cultural industry. Building TASA into a regional artistic and academic stronghold can attract a large stream of people, mobilize the development of other industries in TASA, and even extend its influence outwards, improving the level of Qingdao regarding its overall art and design concept. 

Mr. ZHAO Chao expressed his gratitude to Mr. LI He and Mr. WANG Xiaoxin for their visit as well as their support to the construction of TASA. He said that TASA will actively invite teachers and students of AADTHU for visits and investigation, so as to jointly offer advice for the construction of TASA, and dream up ideas to build TASA into a national academic stronghold.
