Love Science, Advocate Science | The Qingdao Science and Technology Week 2023 Is About to Kick off on May 20
In order to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on scientific and technological innovation, strengthen Qingdao's ability to popularize science, vigorously promote the spirit of scientists, and create a social atmosphere of loving and advocating science, the Qingdao Science and Technology Week 2023 will be unveiled in Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research on the morning of May 20. With a theme of "Love Science, Advocate Science", the event is sponsored by Qingdao Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the Publicity Department of the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee, Qingdao Association for Science and Technology, the Management Committee of Qingdao West Coast New Area, co-sponsored by Qingdao Haifa State-owned Capital Investment and Operation Group Co., Ltd., and organized by the Industry and Information Technology Bureau (Science and Technology Bureau, and Big Data Bureau) of Qingdao West Coast New Area, the Publicity Department of the Party Working Committee of Qingdao West Coast New Area, the Science and Technology Association of Qingdao West Coast New Area, and Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research.

01. Launching Ceremony of Qingdao Science and Technology Week 2023
At 9 a.m. on May 20, the launching ceremony of the Qingdao Science and Technology Week 2023 will be held in the Art and Science Experience Center (Building 1) of Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research. At the launching ceremony, important activities such as the plaque awarding of the Scientific Spirit Theme Practice and Teaching Base and the unveiling of the Design + Technology + Industrial Innovation Alliance will be held as well.

Art-Science Integration Achievement Display Area: the International Art Works Exhibition themed on "Where Art Meets Science · A Better Future is Created" sponsored by Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research, and the Theme Exhibition on Health, Well-being and Senior-friendly Design will all be open to the public, and multiple exhibitions will be open to collectively display the vision of Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research in six innovation fields including future travel innovation, future life innovation, future fashion innovation, future health and well-being innovation, future learning research and development, and sustainable cultural development, and to demonstrate the exploration results of Tsinghua University in the cross-border integration of art and science to the general public.

Science and Technology Achievements and Popular Science Display Area: The scientific and technological innovation achievements exhibition takes the core themes of "mountain", "sea" and "sky", which involves key industries such as intelligent manufacturing, marine equipment, aerospace, and high-end equipment to display hundreds of scientific and technological innovation achievements from more than 70 universities, enterprises and scientific research institutes in Qingdao such as Ocean University of China, Hisense, and Institute of Oceanology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Exhibits will be available to the public including the scaled-down engineering model of China's space station, and the model of "Guoxin No. 1" which is the world's first 100,000-ton cruising smart fishery large-scale farming ship, the model of Penguin FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading Unit), the "Marine Geology Virtual Reality Science Popularization System", and wearable smart interactive clothing.

03.Science and Technology Interaction at Qingdao Science and Technology Week 2023
The Advanced Manufacturing and Design Prototype Laboratory of Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research will be open to the public during the Qingdao Science and Technology Week to carry out scientific and technological interactions for groups of all ages. The laboratory is equipped with advanced 3D printers and other experimental instruments and equipment, and focusing on product modeling materials and process innovation as well as product design and development, it will provide a guarantee for the implementation of scientific innovation and emerging intelligent manufacturing industries.
This science and technology interaction aims to popularize the research process of transforming scientific and innovative concepts into actual products to the public in terms of scientific and technological R&D, medical biology, film and television prop design, etc., so that the general public can experience the great transition from "made in China" to "intelligent manufacturing" in China at close range.
