Digital Artwork Copyright Innovation Laboratory Unveiled in Qingdao, Contributing to New Copyright Ecosystem
On the afternoon of October 16, 2025, the Inauguration Ceremony of the Digital Artwork Copyright Innovation Laboratory and Seminar on Co-building New Copyright Ecosystem was successfully held at the Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research (TASA), unveiling the Digital Artwork Copyright Innovation Laboratory (hereinafter referred to as the “Lab”). WANG Jiansong, Executive Vice President of TASA, and ZHAO Haitao, Director of the Laboratory, attended the event.

The Lab was jointly established by TASA, King Channels Digital Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Beijing Knowledge Transmission Chain Technology Co., Ltd., aiming to create a world-class digital innovation platform for artworks. As an important bridge connecting artistic creations and technological applications, the Lab will focus on R&D and industrial applications of cutting-edge technologies in the field of digital art. By converging resources from multiple parties, it will build a complete digital art industry ecosystem.
At this seminar, representatives from dozens of institutions in areas such as cultural creativity, publishing media, and technological innovation were invited to jointly explore new paths for digital art copyright protection and industrial development. Under the theme of Digital Art Ecosystem and Closed-loop Business Design, guests engaged in discussions, exchanged views on various aspects including copyright protection technology, digital asset trading, and industry ecosystem building, and provided valuable suggestions for the Lab’s future development.

1. Achieving clear and transparent copyright certification
The Lab will establish a multi-level copyright protection system based on “blockchain + AI” technologies, enabling full-process protection for works from creation, evidence preservation to trading. Through collaboration with authoritative institutions such as copyright bureaus, notary offices, and copyright associations, the Lab will deliver a comprehensive service system for digital artworks, including blockchain-based evidence preservation, copyright registration, and copyright certification, thus ensuring that each artwork receives a credible copyright identity certification.
2. Creating a more flexible new model for copyright trading
In terms of copyright trading, the Lab will create a digital asset service platform that integrates artwork management, NFT minting for artworks, copyright splitting, and derivative licensing. By establishing expert review and artwork value assessment mechanisms, it will provide professional support for the copyright trading of digital artworks. At the same time, the service systems for artists and collectors will be improved, contributing to the standardized development of the digital art market.
3. Promoting collaborative development of the industry ecosystem
The Lab will actively promote the establishment of industry standards and cultivation of the industry ecosystem, supporting the healthy development of the digital art market through forward-looking planning. By building a collaborative network that benefits artists, collectors, and platforms, it will help enhance China’s influence in the global digital culture field and provide support for national cultural digitization strategy.

The establishment of the Lab represents a significant step in the development of the digital art industry. In the future, the Lab will continue to facilitate the integration and innovation of art and technology, improve digital art copyright standards, and contribute to the building of a healthy and sustainable digital art industry ecosystem.
